Phillip David Jiron passed away on February 8, 2016. He was 42. He was born on July 18, 1973 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Phillip was a great Dad, being deeply devoted to his sons and his family. His Catholic faith was a source of inspiration. He will be remembered for his kind personality, and his ability to make people smile. He was an avid sports enthusiast, being a giant Denver Broncos fan, and enjoyed coaching youth sports, including football, baseball, and basketball. He had been a sports writer for the Cibola County Beacon.
He is survived by his parents; David and Ruby Jiron. His three sons; Aaden Jiron, Justin Jiron, and Brandon Jiron. His sister; Francine Correa and her husband Mike. His two brothers; Joaquin Jiron and his wife Nadine, and Troy Jacoby. His grandfather; Richard Lopez. His God-Parents; Joyce and John Jimenez. And an Uncle; Richard Lopez. Along with all of his special cousins, his numerous other relatives and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mother; Sharon Lopez Jacoby. One brother; Mario Jacoby. His Grandparents; David and Annie Jiron, Max and Catarina Chacon and Minnie Lopez.
A Memorial Rosary will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church on Monday February 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM will celebrated by Father Alberto Avella. Inurnment will follow at Grants Memorial Park. A reception will then be held at The Knight of Columbus Hall.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Aaden Jiron, Justin Jiron, Brandon Jiron, Damian Jacoby, Terrance Correa, Adrian Chacon, Andres Torrez, Joaquin Jiron, and Troy Jacoby.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
