Pearl P. La Barge

Pearl P. Webster La Barge, 95, went peacefully to be with the Lord Thursday morning, July 2, 2015, at her home in Farmington. She was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Montpelier, Vt.
Pearl married Joseph La Barge Sr. Oct. 24,1939, in Waterbury, Vt. They raised
seven children and were married 40 years until Joseph's death in 1980, at which time
Pearl moved to New Mexico. Pearl was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love for the Lord was a shining
example to all who knew her. Her motto in life was, '"Trust and obey the Lord."
Pearl was preceded by her parents, Henry and Dora; daughter Alice; grandson Jimmy
Clayton; brother George Webster; sisters and brother-in-laws, Evelyn and Ken Healy, Eva and Ted Graham, Myrtle and Bert Cameron and Woodrow Fisher. She leaves behind her very dear sister Marion Fisher of Rochdale, Mass.; daughters Irene (James) Clayton, Anne (Don) Shackett; son Joseph La Barge Jr. all of VT; daughter Maggie La Barge of Pa.; daughters, DD Eicker and Susan (George) Mattern of Farmington; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl was lovingly cared for by her daughter Susan and husband George, daughter DD and granddaughters, Frieda, Missi, Abbie and Michelle and church sister in Christ, Naomi. Pearl also leaves her vast Mennonite family from Farmington and other states and
countries as well.
Pearl lovingly worked for 27 years at Lamp and Light Publishers in the mail, bindery and correspondence departments. Pearl loved her church and enjoyed their love and fellowship for 35 wonderful years. Their kindness and attention in her last days was especially comforting.
Visiting hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, with funeral services to follow at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the First Baptist Church of Farmington, 121 N. Auburn Ave., with the Farmington Mennonite Church Ministry officiating.
