Paula Jean (Rhone) McFarland

Paula Jean McFarland (Rhone) of Farmington, New Mexico passed away at the age of 69 on August 2, 2023. Paula was born on January 13, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Paul Wheeler Rhone and Mildred Ellaweise May (Rhone). Paula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her first love was her family and friends, but her second was teaching. She had a passion for it and was a substitute, an Educational Assistant, and a certified teacher in Shiprock, New Mexico for five years. Paula had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh and to know her was to love her. She valued quality time with her friends and family and could always be counted on to be the life of the party. Our lives will not be the same without her. God be with you until we meet again.

Paula is survived by her husband, Dennis James McFarland, their two sons, Christopher James McFarland and Shawn Paul McFarland, her four grandchildren; Brinkli Joy Nicolle, Mason Drew, Bronson James, and Jaxson Gunnar McFarland. She is also survived byMelissa Hootie McFarland and E’lysa Lanier, her two older sisters, Janice Divine (Marvin) and Jerrie Ruebush (Gary),  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mildred Rhone, her nephews Jeffery McFarland and JL Divine and her brothers-in-law John McFarland and Timothy McFarland.
