Our handsome and beloved, Orlando "Sonni" Lydell Howard, 39, of Farmington, entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017. He was born Feb. 8, 1978, in Shiprock, to Larry and Esther M. Howard.
Sonni graduated from Kirtland Central High School in 1996 and attended San Juan College. Shortly after, he moved to Phoenix where he worked for DBL Distributing for ten years then moved to Farmington shortly after the company's closure. He began working with the City of Farmington Civic Center for six years and had recently started work with Navajo Agricultural Products Industry (NAPI).
Sonni was a huge Denver Broncos fan who loved the outdoors. He was a regular attendee of The Oasis Church in Farmington and enjoyed fellowship with his church family. He enjoyed being behind the grill cooking for family, especially his parents. He was a gentle giant, a quiet and humorous person with a kind heart and contagious smile. Regardless of life's circumstances, he had love and compassion for others. His family and friends will truly miss his smile, hugs, and laughter.
Sonni was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Thomas Yazzie and Ray Yazzie Sr.; paternal grandmother, Lillie Howard; and niece, Shundiin Howard. He is survived by his parents; sister, Jennifer Harvey (Curtis Harvey Jr.) of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; brother, Gabriel Howard (Joanna Aguilar) of Albuquerque; nephews, Keanu Harvey, Rain Howard, Curtis Harvey III, and Makai Howard; niece, Tierany Harvey; fiancée, Cheanoa Willetto and her daughter, Ashley of Farmington; maternal grandmother, Katie Yazzie; paternal grandfather, Henry Howard; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his precious four legged kids, Bailey, Rocky, Zayn and Daisy.
