Nellie L. Miller, 94, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Life Care Center in Farmington. She was born Feb. 15, 1919 in Copeland, Kan. the
daughter of Alfred Irvin Morris and Beulah Mae (Lewis) Morris. Nellie lived through the Kansas "dust bowl" and the "Great Depression". She moved to Farmington in 1952 and worked 28 years as a checker at Safeway in Farmington, New Mexico and Durango, Colo. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Nellie retired to Aztec, then Farmington to be near family. She loved yard work, gardening and crafts and reading but most of all of all she loved her Lord Jesus and was ready to go home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Beulah Morris; four brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, Troy R. Bible; daughters, Thelma McMillen Level and husband, Don Level and grandson, Alfred Lewis McMillen. Nellie leaves behind her daughter, Velma Bible Zumwalt and husband, Jimmy, of Farmington; 8 grandkids, D.A. McMillen, Leona Hall, Ervin McMillen, Marie Mamood and Rose Anna Lerma, all of Texas; Karyl Bible, Troy Bible, Scott (Lisa) Bible, all of Aztec; 16 great-grandkids; 9 great-great-grandkids and many dear friends. Visitation will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Ballew officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St., in Farmington. Nellie's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington.
