NATIVADAD "PONCHO" SERNA DELEON
SEPTEMBER 8, 1922 - FEBRUARY 26, 2015
Nativadad "Poncho" Serna DeLeon, 93, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Bloomfield Nursing and Rehab Center. Poncho was born September 8, 1922 in Round Rock, Texas the son of Miguel and Victoria DeLeon.
He worked in the oilfields as a mechanic welder and later retired from Flint Engineering. Poncho loved to fish, hunt and go camping but his greatest love was getting together with his amily for family gatherings. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Poncho was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Guadalupe DeLeon, son Manuel DeLeon and two grandsons.
He leaves behind his three daughters Janie DeLeon, Mary O'Brien (Joe), and Margaret King, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many friends.
Rosary will be recited Monday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St., in Bloomfield followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bob Mathieu as celebrant. Poncho will then be taken to Greenlawn Cemetery for burial and placed next to his wife Lupe.
