Nathan Daniel Poyer went home to be with his Heavenly Father on June 15, 2015, at the age of 37. Nathan was born in Farmington on October 11, 1977 to Marilynn and Melivin Poyer.
SSGT Poyer honorably served his country with 15 years in the United States Army. He served 5 combat tours in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan with three years as a United States Ranger. He was with the 82nd Airborne Division, served with the 25th Infantry Division out of Hawaii. Nathan was stationed all over the world serving his country.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Dan and Fern Benally and paternal grandparents Oscar and Nellie Poyer.
He is survived by his daughters Shila and Cheyenne Poyer and their mother Shannon Poyer. special friend Mandy Tolino, parents Marilynn and Melvin Poyer; brothers Jerald Gould and Johnnie Johnson; twin sister Natasha Poyer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Viewing will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Kirtland Stake Center, 10 Road 6523, in Kirtland, with Bishop Joel Foutz conducting. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St., in Farmington. Arrangements are with Brewer, Lee and Larkin.
