Nathan "Woody" Etcitty, 24, of Lake Valley, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, in Farmington. He was born July 13, 1990, in Crownpoint, to Gilbert Sr. and Bertha Etcitty. He was born to the Sagebrush Clan and born for the Mountain Cove Clan. He went to school at Lake Valley Navajo School and graduated from Crownpoint High School in 2008.
Nathan was a loving and caring individual and he had a great sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face even if he was having a bad day. He loved his family to the fullest, especially his only daughter Ceria. He loved to joke around with his siblings. Nathan was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and L.A. Lakers fan. He loved Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson.
Nathan was preceded in death by his girlfriend Briana Perry; father Gilbert Etcitty Sr. brother T.J. Daukai; and grandparents, Irene and Martin Garcia and Jessie and Juan Etcitty.
Nathan is survived by his daughter Ceria A. Etcitty; mother Bertha Etcitty; brothers, Gilbert Etcitty Jr. and wife Elsie, Gilesbert Etcitty and Lambert Etcitty; sisters, Diana Etcitty, Jessica Etcitty and Sabrina Etcitty; and numerous family and friends.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, at La Vida Mission in Lake Valley officiated by the Rev. Raymond Sales. Burial will follow in the Edith Family Cemetery.
Reception will follow at the Lake Valley Chapter House. Pallbearers are Gilbert Etcitty Jr., Gilesbert Etcitty, Martin Etcitty, Kirby Padilla, Casey Padilla, Shemaiah Vandever and Preston Vandever.
