Nadine Atcitty Norberto, 54, a resident of Shiprock, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2017 in Albuquerque, . Nadine was born on May 17, 1963 in Shiprock, daughter of Hugh and Lorraine Attcitty. Nadine was born to the Redhouse clan and for the Edgewater clan.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Norberto Jr; parents Hugh Atcitty-Begay Jr.and stepmother Rena Teller; grandparents Hugh Atcitty Sr. and Pauline Bitsillie.
She leaves behind her son Brian R. Norberto; mother Lorraine Atcitty; brothers Gilbert Atcitty, Leonard Atcitty, step brother Christopher Teller (Earlthia);sisters Hughetta Atcitty (Don), step sisters Donnell Hnat (Rik), Tracey Phoenix- Lyons (John), Harriet Talk; grandmother Jessie Redshirt Atcitty. Nadine was a member of the San Juan Chapter of the National Federation of the blind she attended braille lessons through the Commission For The Blind, Mrs. Norberto was an assistant teacher at Open Bible Christian Academy for many years. She was always dependable and willing to do anything asked of her. She worked in many different grade levels. She led by example never letting anything get her down, Her faith was strong and unwavering throughout her life influencing and encouraging all those who knew her. her warm kindhearted personality will be truly missed. We will always remember her laughter, great sense of humor, and friendship. She will be greatly missed until we see her again in heaven.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Nadine will take place Saturday, August 26, at 12:00 noon at Open Bible Baptist Church, 23 Rd 6825 in Waterflow with Pastor Don Chitty officiating.
