Milo V. Hauzer, 81, of La Plata, NM passed away March 11, 2020. Milo was born on February 14, 1939 to parents Frank Hauzer and Sophia Sheliga in Ogden, MI. Milo was a veteran in the Navy. He graduated from Blissfield High School in 1957 and worked for the US Post Office for over 25 years and was the La Plata Postmaster for the last 20 years. Milo loved to travel and sold ice cream as past owner of Adobe Flats Ice Cream. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge and VFW- Veteran Foreign Wars. Milo served as a Molder on the USS Arcadia (AD-23) from 1958 to 1962. He loved golf and professional sports, his favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He also loved wood working and mechanics and loved tinkering around in his shop which he built from the ground up. He was an animal lover who raised goats, chickens and pigs, as well as many dogs. Milo is preceded in death by his parents; Frank Hauzer and Sophia Sheliga, brother; Ted Hauzer and sister; Stella Gillen. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years; Karen Hauzer; son; Aaron Hauzer, daughters; Rachel (John) Wilson, Donna (Arlie) Miller and Teddi (Mike) Thorpe, grandchildren; Cree Gurley, Tesslia Hauzer, Justin Griffith, Siler Thorpe and Eden Thorpe, great-grandchildren; Zachary Sallee, Annabelle Sallee, Michael Jr. Griffith and Jason Griffith. No services will be held, any donations can be made to Farmington Animal Shelter.
Milo’s care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington.
