Mildred "Sybil" Robinson
October 9, 1920 - April 3,2015
Mildred Sybil Robinson, of Aztec went to be with her lord and Savior on Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born October 9, 1920, in Oklahoma, to Dan and Edith Crum. Sybil married Dane D. Robinson on February 13, 1942, in Baird, Texas. In 1959, they moved their family to Aztec and became very involved in the community.
Sybil was a devoted Christian and was an active member of the First Baptist church of Aztec.
She worked as a secretary at Aztec High School, as secretary at her church and had the privilege of playing the piano during services for a number of years.
She enjoyed crafts, playing games and writing poetry. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.
Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Dane Robinson; her sisters, Doris Easterling, Norma Breeding and Thema Draughon; and her son-in-law, Ron Cochran.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Cochran and Karen (Bill) Maez; her grandchildren, Laurie (Pat) Slusser, Billy Maez, Ronnie (Cindy) Cochran and Kristi (Chad) Tenski; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Pat Slusser, Billy Maez, Ronnie Cochran, Chad Tenski, Ryan Slusser, Tyler Maez and Derrick Slusser. Honorary pallbearers are Laurie Slusser, Kristi Tenski, Lacey Gomez, Cassiday Slusser, Breanna and Alexandria Cochran and Khloe Tenski.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at Cope memorial Chapel of Aztec. Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 9 at the First Baptist Church of Aztec, 700 Navajo Avenue, in Aztec. graveside services will follow at Aztec Cemetery.
