Mildred Louise Childress was born in Leveland, Texas to Elbert and Odie (Bowers) Barnes. Mildred was a teacher for over 40 years teaching in
Texas for over 10 years and in NewMexico from 1962-1985 teaching at Mesa Verde, Apache and Ladera Elementary. She was a member
for 50 years at the First Baptist Church here in Farmington. She was married to William James Childress for 68 years. Mildred traveled to all
fifty states and visited 13 foreign nations. Mildred loved family gatherings and loved to plan activities for them. She also was a avid reader.She was
preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and one brother, and one granddaughter. She is survived by her husband William, daughter Carolyn Raye
Roberts, William James Childress Jr, John Mark Childress, and 5 grandchildren.A viewing will be on Friday, October 02, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at
Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington. Service will be held on Saturday, October 03, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Farmington
Burial will be immediately after service at Memory Gardens Cemetery 6917 E. Main St. Farmington, NM. In lieu of flowers please make donations
to Southern Baptist International Mission Board at IMB 3806 Monument Ave P.O. Box 6767 Richmond, VA 23230-0767. Mildreds care is
entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel 505-327-5142
