Miguel C. Apodaca passed away in Albuquerque, NM on September 23, 2016. He was 75. He was born on September 28, 1940 in Fierro, New Mexico to Jose Apodaca and Luz Carasco Apodaca.
Mr. Apodaca was a former owner and operator of a Texaco and Diamond Shamrock gas stations, He worked as a mechanic, an upholsterer, a uranium miner for Gulf and Kerr-McGee Mines. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, but his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. He was deeply loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his children; Matilda Leake and her husband Brian, Dennis Apodaca and his wife Colette, Isidoro Apodaca and his wife Rosanne, Anita Apodaca, Lucia Francis and her husband James, Miguel Apodaca Jr. and his wife Cindy, and Anthony Apodaca. 17 Grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. His siblings; Tony Apodaca, Rito Apodaca, Rudy Apodaca, and Josephina Gallegos. Along with numerous other relatives, that survive him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Trujillo Apodaca that passed away on December 27, 1999. His parents; Jose and Luz Apodaca. His brothers; Jesus Apodaca, Lorenzo Apodaca, and Jose Apodaca.
On Tuesday September 27, 2016 at the Church of Christ, 920 N. 1st Street, Grants, NM a visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, with a eulogy given at 7:00pm. On Wednesday September 28, 2016 also at Church of Christ, a funeral service will be given by Reverend Matthew Clark. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park. A reception for relatives and friends will be held at the Milan Parks and Recreation Hall.
Pallbearers include; Joseph Apodaca, Jerry Warden, Brandon Warden, Dustin Leake, Devin Apodaca, Dennis Apodaca.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Nathan Francis, and Ethan Francis.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
