Michael "Big Mike" Leo Manuelito, 29, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, in Farmington. He was born Aug. 2, 1986, in Shiprock, to Leo Manuelito and Esther Castillo-Manuelito.
Michael was born to the Bitter Water Clan and born for the Salt People Clan.
Michael attended Ojo Amarillo Elementary School, Kirtland Middle School and Kirtland Central High School. He worked at Domino's Pizza and Pizza Nine, where he made his co-workers and his customers his family. He had made a lot of friends at school, he started a club, the Rez Boys Club. He liked to fish with his brother and nephews. Big Mike always made time for his mother. She took care of him until the end. He made time for his niece and nephews. He watched them grow up. Big mike was baptized when he was a teenager. He was always guided throughout his life. His favorite teams the Denver Broncos and the San Antonio Silver Spurs. Michael Manuelito a.k.a. Big Mike will be missed.
Big Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leo Castillo Sr. and Annie Martin-Castillo; paternal grandparents, Notah Manuelito Sr. and Jeanette Barton-Manuelito. He is survived by his parents, Leo Manuelito and Esther Castillo-Manuelito; brother, Mario Manuelito; sisters, Michelle (Felton) Loney and Stephanie (Tim) Beyale; grandmother, June Martin and grandfathers, Roy Martin Sr. and Herbert Barton; and nephews, Marino and Joshua Manuelito, Marcus and Damian Beyale; and nieces, Ashanti Manuelito, Kimora and Aaliyah Beyale and Chantelle Yazzie.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Mountain Vista Baptist Church, 4401 Wildflower Mesa Parkway in Farmington with pastors John Preston and John Keenan officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery in Tohatchi. A reception will follow at the Tohatchi Chapter House.
Pallbearers are Mario Manuelito, Marino Manuelito, Tim Beyale, Marcus Beyale, Joshua Manuelito, Craig Bruce, Dalvin Garcia, Kyle Garcia, Conroy Martin and Bryan Castillo Garcia.
