Mary Elizabeth Scott, 65, of Farmington, slipped the bounds of this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 4, 2013, in Farmington. She fought a good fight and ran a good race. She was born May 11, 1948, in Walsenburg, Colorado, to Ralph and Beaulah Read. Mary moved to Farmington in 1978 and was a draftsman for Amcon Construction. In July of 1981, she married Lonnie Scott. She kept books for Beaver Overhead Door until 1992. Then she went to work for Coleman Oil and Gas and Big A, until Key Energy bought out Big A. She was a computer operator for Key Energy and retired in 2003 due to illness. She loved to go hunting, fishing and especially camping. She enjoyed going to Moody Blues concerts with her sister, Dorthy. She will be greatly missed. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Read, and her brother Robert Read. She is survived by her fiancé and former husband, Lonnie Scott; stepson, Wade Scott and wife, Stephanie; mother, Beaulah Read; brothers, Larry Read and Dewayne Read; sister, Dorthy Read; and one grandchild. A private funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, at the First Baptist Church of Farmington, 121 N. Auburn Ave., with Keith Berryman officiating.
