Mary C. Maluf

Mary Catherine Maluf, 90, of Farmington, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at her home. She was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Mattoon, Ill. to Paul Dunifer and Pearl Mitchell Dunifer.
Mary graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas, and later went to South Korea, and worked for Civil Service. She married Ned Maluf in 1952, and was married for 49 years. Mary later moved to Saudi Arabia with Standard Oil and lived there for ten years. She lived in Houston, Texas, at Ft. Bliss, and in El Paso, Texas until her husband Ned retired. Mary has lived in Farmington for 30 years. She had a beautiful soprano voice. She was a church soloist and sang in many choirs such as the Sweet Adeline's and was choir director at her church. She was an active and faithful member of the Bethany Christian Church, the Elks Lodge, Daughters of the Nile, and Order of the Beauceant.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Maluf; parents, Paul and Pearl Dunifer; and her brothers Charles Dunifer and Robert Dunfier. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Seegmiller and Lillian Nye.; nieces and nephews, Linda Nye, Rick Seegmiller, Mary S. Erickson, Paul Seegmiller, John Seegmiller, Drew Dunifer, Robin Dunifer, Sreven Dunifer, and many dear friends.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6 at the Bethany Christian Church, 711 East 30th St. in Farmington with Pastor Tom Goebel officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Mary's memory to Shriners Children's Hospital, www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/en/donate.
