Mary Jane (Huebner) Jost

Mary Jane Jost, age 94, passed away October 3, 2022. She was born May 28, 1928 in Glencoe, IL to Frank John Huebner, Jr. and Helen Margaret Hohlfelder. She graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL in 1946. She married Wallace August Jost, whom she had known since childhood, on February 21, 1948. She was a longtime resident of Northbrook, IL before moving to Farmington, NM in 2018 to be closer to her son’s family. She worked many years for the Northbrook news agency and Service Merchandise. She was an active member of her church congregations throughout her life, most recently Trinity Lutheran Church in Farmington. She had a beautiful singing voice and often sang as a soloist in church. She loved baking, frequently baking dozens of cookies for holidays and church potlucks. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and bowling. A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, she was thrilled to see them win the World Series at the age of 88. Her faith, family and friends were central to her life. She was well known for always remembering birthdays, never forgetting to send a card. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 60 years, Wally, her daughter, Susan Lynn Schultz, brothers, William, Edward, and Fredrick Huebner, and sisters, Margaret Colbert and Helen Dorothy Winter. She is survived by her son, Robert C. Jost and his wife Ann; grandchildren, Micheal Jost, Heather Armes and husband Dylan, and Jennifer Jost Masawa; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Armes, Gavin and Mecari Jost; and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Services will be held October 15, 2022 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1221 E. 20th St, Farmington, NM. The service will be led by Pastor Larry Davis and Interment will take place at a later date at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs at www.lutheranchurchcharities.org/give-lcc-k-9 are appreciated.
