Mary Rose Holiday, 91, of Farmington, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, in Farmington. She was born on June 28, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Veronica and Jon Bomba.
Mary had a warm smile, a loving way and a great sense of humor. Her favorite hobbies were reading, crocheting and tending her garden. She cherished and loved her children and grandchildren most. We will treasure our precious memories of Mary and miss her greatly.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence Holiday; daughter, Patricia Blazenyak and her parents.
She is survived by her brother, Rudy Bomba; sister, Marge Kosman; her daughters; Joanne Slifka, Patricia (deceased) husband Paul Blazenyak, Kathleen Holiday, Sandra (Mark) Podgorski, Doreen Nowak, Nancy Cremisio and Jackie Holiday (Dave Jones); and sons, Bruce Holiday, Craig (Deb) Holiday, Neil (Gail) Holiday and Roger (Loretta) Holiday; 37 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
A rosary for Mary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington with Father Frank Chacon as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, 1605 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Bruce Holiday, Micheal Felicko, Scott Rothgery, Christopher Holiday, Matthew Holiday and Ian Holiday.
The family would like to thank Pearl Lopez for her loving care of their mother (for over six years at her daughter's house), as well as the caregivers at San Juan Center Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Mary during her last month.
