Mary Ida Chapman, 74, of Flora Vista, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Farmington. She was born July 23, 1939, in La Belle, Mo., to William "Bill" and Alma Elizabeth Brooks.
She was a loving wife for almost 53 years. She was a great cook, seamstress and overall homemaker. She was always by Jesse's side selling their produce at the grower's market.
Mary was full of love and support for her family and friends. She enjoyed her roll in life as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
She survived by her husband, Jesse J. Chapman; daughters, Linda K. (Corey) Johnson, Karen S. (Greg) Clark and Michele A. (Ross) Trujillo; brother, Kenneth (Christina) Brooks; sister, Betty (David) Dickey; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at Cope Memorial in Aztec, with Pastor Keith Corley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Aztec Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Roger Brooks, Roy Peevey, Ross Trujillo, Ross T. Trujillo, Gregory Clark and Don Miller.
Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Brooks, David Dickey and Bill Chapman.
In lieu of flowers, Mary would appreciate donations to heart health research.
