Mary Arviso (Arviso) Allison

December 24, 1924 — April 14, 2016

Mary Aviso Allison, 91, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was born on December 24, 1924 to Mike Arviso and Ka ha bah Shirley in Fort Defiance, Arizona.
Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed participating with Sacred Heart School Halloween Carnival by making Navajo Tacos and Fry Bread. Her favorite hobbies were rug weaving, crocheting, and watching basketball. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Lindy Jim; second husband Kee Allison; sons Orville Jim and Leroy Allison; grandson; Micah Martinez; great grandson Shyakee Teasyatwho; daughters Lucinda Jim and Baby Jim; brothers Philip Arviso, Jonah Arviso, Ned Arviso, and Herbert Arviso; sisters Blanche Arviso and Thelma Hovel; grandfather Ramon Jesus Arviso and great grandfather Jesus Arviso.
Mary is survived by her sons Jerry Allison, Timmy (Darlene) Allison and Larry Allison; daughters Linda Smith, Rosemary (David) Yazzie, Mary Lou (Gilbert) Brown, Betty Lou (Art) Martinez, and Jennie Lou
Allison; sisters Alice Beleen, Gracey Schramm, Elizabeth Hoskie, and Alberta Smith; 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19th and will be followed by a viewing from 6:30-8:00 PM at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen, in Farmington, with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. Mary will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main St., in Farmington.
Pallbearers will be LeManuel Allison, Jamie Brown, Rhys Brown, Marcelino Yazzie, Derrick Yazzie, Lawrence (Jay) Wright, and Brian Yazzie.
Mary's care is entrusted to the Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
