Mary Alcock, 91, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. She was born March 29, 1921, in Houston, Miss., to Tom and Tempe Chenault.
She lived a full rich life and was a blessing to those who knew her. She never met a stranger and her heart was warm and welcoming.
Mary was best known as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her passion in life was her relationship with Jesus and the study and knowledge of His Word. She was a woman who paved the road for many as an ordained minister of the Lord.
To know Mary was to know her heart for God, which she never was ashamed to proclaim.
She had many talents; she played the piano and guitar with excellence and could sing. She was given opportunities to perform professionally throughout her life but mostly used her gift to honor the Lord.
Mary was a professional cook and baker. Working along side her husband as camp cooks she won the hearts and stomachs of many a hungry soul with her baking.
Mary will be missed and the stories will continue to be told of a woman that touched the hearts of so many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Alcock; her parents and her sister, Lottie West
Mary is survived by her son, Charles Alcock; nieces, that were her sisters at heart, Sue Reese, of Miss. Martha Hall, of Farmington and Kathy Williams, of Flora Vista and nephews, other nieces and friends.
