Mary Jo Albin

September 2, 1930 — August 16, 2021

Mary Jo Albin went home to her heavenly Father on August 16, 2021 at age 90. She was born to James & Johanna (Balander) Aiken on September 2, 1930 in Bisbee, AZ.

Mary Jo attended grade school in Bisbee, & graduated from Glendale High School in Phoenix. She met the love of her life, DeWayne in Deadwood, SD, & married on May 2, 1951 where Vicky & James were born. In 1956 they relocated to Indiana where she worked at Montgomery Wards until giving birth to her third child DeWayne Mark. In 1959 the family moved to southern Arizona where she worked as a payroll clerk, then Personnel Mgr. for a major corporation. In 1971 they followed their daughter to Farmington, NM where she worked for the Bureau of Land Mgt for 38 years until retirement. During her time at BLM she worked on many major projects and enjoyed organizing special company events. She was active with the United Way Blood Drives, Hospice, Board Member for Salmon Ruins & her church. DeWayne & Mary Jo founded the first Christian Motorcycle Association Chapter in Farmington, where they were members until 2008. She has received several awards for her dedication & time served as a valuable asset to these organizations. She retired in 2013 & became an avid walker with her BFF Pat. As the family matriarch, she planned & organized family gatherings for Sunday dinners, Holidays, & Christmas plays with the grandchildren. Throughout her life she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Mary Jo joins her parents, 12 siblings, her husband of 57 years, her son Mark, & many other loved ones in Heaven. She is survived by her daughter Vicky, son James (Debbie), 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great- grandson.

Services will be held at Copper Ridge Church located at 805 Saguaro Trail, Farmington, NM, Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM.  Pastor Jeral Dickinson officiating.
