Marvin Frank O'Donnal, 86, of Fruitland, went home to his heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Fruitland. He was born July 13, 1927, in Colonia Dublán, Chihuahua, Mexico, to John Christopher Frank O'Donnal and Sarah Ann Cluff.
In 1944, Marvin joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS O'Riley and was discharged in 1947.
He worked as a supervisor for Ameron Pipe Division and retired after 40 plus years of employment. Throughout his career he traveled to many different parts of the world.
After his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, working in his yard, checking his email every morning and speaking Spanish every chance he could. Marvin owned a plane and loved flying.
Marvin was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served a mission in Armenia. He was very patriotic, loved his country and always made sure he had a flag flying.
Marvin is survived by his wife Joanne Hyatt O'Donnal, of 12 years; two daughters, Sherri Petrie and her husband Donnie and Jeannine O'Donnal, both of Chandler, Ariz. Marvin was blessed with 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, mother, six brothers, seven sisters and two sons, Steven and Vic O'Donnal.
A viewing will be at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 10 Road 6523, off U.S. Highway 64 in Kirtland.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
He will be transported to his final resting place in Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Ariz.
