Marvin Gayle Bond Jr

Marvin Gayle Bond Jr. passed away on August 2, 2016 at his home in Farmington, New Mexico, he was 68. He was born on March 19, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Marvin Gayle Bond Sr. and Connie Azua Bond.
Mr. Bond served his country in the United States Army for ten years, having served tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He had worked for San Juan Springs, BJ Titan Oil Field Company, Dowell-Schlumberger, and Consolidated Constructors, mainly as a diesel mechanic. He was a graduate of San Juan College where he received his Associates Degree in Machine Shop Technology. He was an avid Green Bay Packers football fan. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, flee market shopping, woodworking, carpentry, and watching cowboy movies, but he will best be remembered as a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend. He was loved and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, his high school sweetheart Frances Bond of the family home in Farmington. Five children; Maria Bond, Joseph Bond, Tammy Callahan and her husband John, Jeremy Bond, Jonathan Bond and his wife Kaley, and Gloria Bond. Six grandchildren; Megan, Alec, Dacia, Maya, Anthony, and CJ. Two Great-Grandchildren; Cody and Kylie-Ann. His siblings; Marianne Chaput and her husband Rick, Michael Bond, Tillie Ryan, Richard Bond and his wife Phyllis, David M. Bond and his wife Lupe. Along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Marvin G. Bond Sr., and Connie Bond.
On Thursday August 4, 2016 at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington, NM, a Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00PM. On Friday August 5, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gallup, NM., a Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, A Rosary will then be recited at 1:00 PM. Then at 1:30 PM, a Mass will be celebrated by Father Pio O'Connor. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park of Gallup, with Veterans helping Veterans providing military honors. A reception will follow at the Gallup Community Service Center.
Pallbearers include; Richard Bond, Michael Bond, David Bond, Jonathan Bond, Anthony Bond, and Joseph Bond.
Honorary Pallbearers include; CJ Bond, Alec Fuller, Jeremy Bond, John Callahan, and Cody Criswell.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
