Louise Harris, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, suddenly after a short illness, due to pneumonia complications. She was born March 12, 1928, in Washita, Okla., to Fanny Rogers and William Reedy. From an early age, she was a horsewoman who spent many hours riding those Oklahoma hills. She was a woman of many talents.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, all of Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Loujan Harris; sons, Robert C. (Jana) Harris and Kevin J (Linda) Harris; and her loving former daughter-in-law, Linda Harris. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Casey (Angie) Hall of Aztec, Melanie Mize of Sterling, Alaska, Jacob (Connie) Hall of Farmington, Josh Harris of Farmington, Seth Harris of Farmington, Darrell and Elise Martinez, and Geremyah, EdenJames and EmilioMartinez of Aztec; and three great-grandchildren, Billy Ray Hall of Aztec, Raven Cervantes of Sterling, Alaska, and Morrigan Harris of Farmington.
Mother owned the Pueblo Motel in Aztec for many years. She had many adventures as a businesswoman in those days. She went out of her way to help people. She was a searcher of truth and knowledge. Louise had spent many happy hours sharing these truths in the Bloomfield and Aztec areas, as well as the Navajo Reservation, where she made many wonderful friends. She fought the fine fight and endured to the end.
He will call; the dead will answer.
They shall live at his command.
For he will have a longing for the work of his own hand.
So have faith and do not wonder, For God can make us stand, and we will live forever.

Mother had four passions in her life, her God Jehovah, her service to him, her children and people. She never met a stranger. Thank you for being our mother. We will love you forever.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4 Road 2595 in Aztec, with Earl Jewel officiating.
Louise's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., 505-334-9332.
