Martha Alma (Cox) Boyle

June 16, 1924 — August 3, 2016

Martha A. Boyle passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016 in Aztec, NM.
Martha was born June 16, 1924 in Cimarron, NM, and was raised in Alcalde and Espanola, NM. She attended high school at McCurdy Mission in Espanola. After graduating in 1942, she moved to York Nebraska to attend York College. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1946. After receiving her degree, she returned to New Mexico and taught high school biology at Santa Rosa High School.
In 1947 she married Harold R. Boyle whom she met while in Santa Rosa. They worked several ranch jobs in the Santa Rosa area and followed road construction until settling in Espanola, NM in 1956 where they lived for 20 years. In 1976 they moved to the Ft. Sumner, NM. They operated a custom meat processing plant and farmed in the valley for 34 years. Martha moved to Aztec, NM after the loss of her husband in 2013.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harold R. Boyle; her parents, Orville and Mattie Cox; sister Evelyn Louise Cox; brother, Eugene Cox; and sister Eileen Steigerwalt.

She leaves behind four children, Charles (Elizabeth) Boyle of Englewood, CO; Clyde Boyle (Nancy) of Raton, NM; Lora Federici (Larry) of Aztec, NM; and Edward (Christy) Boyle of Ft. Sumner, NM; seven grandchildren, Naomi (James) Valenzuela, Chelsea (Catt) Boyle, Jon Boyle, Byron (Lisa) Boyle, Sara Boyle, Christa Boyle, and Shilo Boyle; four great-grandchildren, Samyra Valenzuela, Noah Valenzuela, V Wilson, and Rocco Wilson.

A graveside memorial will be August 20th at 11:00 A.M. at the Cuervo Cemetery, Cuervo, NM.

Martha's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington. (505)325-8688.
