Marlon Seth Maloy of Bloomfield, New Mexico passed from this life on August 15, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM. Marlon was born on January 28, 1943 in Safford, Arizona to Edward Wyatt Maloy and Queenola Lavona Gailey. He grew up in a large and loving family. In 1950 the family moved to Bloomfield, NM. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in an irrigation ditch when he was eight years old, and remained true and faithful all his life.
Marlon served a two-year mission in the Central British mission in 1963-1965. He attended Brigham Young University where he met Cheryl Kay Hardy. They were married in the Laie, Hawaii Temple in 1967.
Upon graduating from BYU, He accepted a teaching and coaching position with Bloomfield Schools. His small family moved back to Bloomfield. This is where they settled and raised their family. Marlon and Cheryl were blessed with six daughters and one son.
After retiring from the Bloomfield School system. Marlon started a new career in building custom cabinets. He was a very skilled builder. He served as the Bloomfield Municipal judge for eight years. Marlon then took up oil painting and painted beautiful pictures for family and friends. He was a talented and gifted artist.
Marlon is survived by his wife Cheryl, sisters Myrna Jane Mangum and Dortha Jean Robinson. Children Audra (Rick) Jeske, Marnie (Abe) Martin, Robin (Gaither) Bynum, Maile (Martin) Farnsworth, Carrie (Brad) Boehm, Janis (Eric) James, Logan (Cyrena) Maloy. 30 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bloomfield, New Mexico. Burial will follow at East Hammond Cemetery, Bloomfield, New Mexico.
