Smokey Lyon, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday night, April 1, 2017, surrounded by his family. Smokey was born May 18, 1926, with his twin sister Marge, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to George and Grace Lyon and 6 siblings. Smokey had a long list of accomplishments that included the US Navy, starting Big "A" Auto Parts, (now Car Quest) on San Juan Blvd., spear heading the entire wrestling program in the San Juan Basin, and he was a 33rd degree Master Mason. He will be truly missed and remembered for his quick wit, laughter, dancing skills and his hugs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mid, Blanche, and twin sister Marge; brothers, Bob and Wayne; daughter, Nancy, and step-daughter, Crystal. He is survived by his wife, Esther; sisters, Ruth and Helen; daughters, Judy and Lanna, and son, Allen (Karon) Lyon; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
