Marian Yellow, 68, of Durango, Colo., died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Durango, Colo. She was born Aug. 26, 1944 in Naschitti to Clarence and Evelyn Ungelbah Denetclaw. She was born to Ashiihi and born for Tlaashch'ii.
She was a beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Marian was a very courageous woman and was known to be a worker, who fought the good fight.
She loved Jesus with her whole heart and served him faithfully.
Marian is survived by her husband, Jackson Yellow; son, Jackson Denetclaw Yellow; daughters, Diana Rose Yellow and Shairlene Ann Yellow; brother, Hanson Denetclaw; sisters, Mary Ann Van Winkle, Gladys Daniels and Ruth Wilson and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Baptist Church of Aztec, 700 Navajo Ave. with Pastor Justin Ross officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Community Cemetery.
Marian's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., in Aztec 505-334-9332.
