Margie E. Miller, 91, was surrounded by her family when she went to be with her heavenly father on Jan. 2, 2016. She was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Ada, Okla. She lived in Cortez, Colo., for 49 years before moving to Aztec to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Aubrey J. and Beatrice A. Dennis; her siblings, Raymond Dennis and Lolita Fullen and her loving husband of 63 years, Vernon "Whistle" Miller. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Kathleen) Miller and Jana Williams; grandchildren, Steven (Darlene) Miller, Marie (Michael) Greenhaus, Aubrey (Donovan) Maynes, Sarah (Joshua) West; and her six great grandchildren, Dylan, Kobie, Bryce, Cade, Hayden and Annika.
Margie was a devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Aztec. She was avid quilter, enjoyed reading, shopping, visiting with friends and family, camping and four-wheeling. She and Whistle spent their winters as snowbirds in Arizona where she was part of a quilting club and a line dancing group.
A memorial service for Margie will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at First Baptist Church of Aztec, 700 Navajo Ave. in Aztec.
