Margaret Sam, 88, of Counselor, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Farmington. She was born July 1, 1925, to Pablo Sam and Margaret Sandoval. She was born to Keha'atiinii and Tl'aashchi'i.
Margaret was a homemaker who shared her life with the late Henry Werito. She enjoyed reading the Navajo Bible. She shared her love of Navajo weaving with those around her.
Margaret enjoyed the company of family and took pleasure in watching basketball. She cherished her grandchildren, Lavinia, Seth, Byron, Vanessa and Leanne. She was delighted to have two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Isaac of Laguna.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leopold Sam and her sister Sophie Werito.
She is survived by her son Roy Sam, her sister Julia Sam; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She impacted many lives and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, at Living Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Guerito officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot.
The reception will be at the Counselor Chapter House.
Pallbearers are Byron Sam, Seth Sam, Adrian Sam, David Werito, Leonard Sam and Alec Billy.
