Mable Fern Kerns, 89, of Farmington entered life on July 18, 1924 in Copeland, Kansas and left this earth to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was instructor, teacher and disciplinarian. Mable lived as an example of honesty, respect and integrity. She was a talented homemaker, business women and was creative at crafts, sewing, gardening, cooking and cake decorating. Mable had the gift of giving and hospitality. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. Mable loved her husband, family, friends, and the Lord dearly. She was a strong woman and fought a long fight. Her family would like to express their appreciation to Lifecare Center, Unit C and Dr. Kompare for their devoted care over the last 12 3/4 years. Mable was born to Charles and Corda Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kerns, 2 granddaughters, 2 great-great grandsons and 4 brothers. She leaves behind 2 daughters: June Reider (Howard) and Dixie Roberts (Greg) and a son Charles Kerns (Sharon); a sister Irene Webber, numerous nieces and nephews, 21 grandchildren, numerous great/great-great grandchildren and dear friends. Graveside services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. in Farmington with Craig Montroy officiating. Interment will follow.
