Lucy Bee, 63, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left to be with the lord on Sunday March 31, 2013. She was born Oct. 26, 1949 in Farmington to John and Mary Bee. She was born to the Tach'ii'nii (Red Running Into The Water) and for the Hashtl'ishnii (Mud People).
She was blessed with a wonderful daughter, Markle Bee. Two years ago her grandson, Orion, came into her life quickly becoming the love of her life.
She radiated kindness, compassion, and wisdom, no matter the situation or circumstance. Accompanied with her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laughter, her presence was always felt everywhere she went.
Lucy attended Kirtland High School then later attended a tech school in Flagstaff. From there she moved to California where she continued her education.
She worked in various locations starting in California for 15 years and Washington for several months. After moving back to New Mexico she worked for NAPI, then to her present employment at the Bureau of Land Management.
Lucy was a well rounded person and was part of the Native American Church and the Non-Denominational Church.
She had a number of activities that she participated in like spending time with her wonderful grandson, attending parties, tending to her livestock when she raised them and the craftwork of beading.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, John Sr., and Mary Bee and her nephew, Jeremy Bee.
She is survived by her daughter, Markie Bee; brothers, Jimmie Martinez, Nelson Bee, Harrison Bee, Sam Bee, Johnson Bee and John Bee Jr.; sisters, Louella Clary and Lita Thomas and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Kirtland.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5, at My Father's House, 308 W. Broadway in Farmington, with Travis Clary officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery.
A reception will follow the burial in the Kirtland Union Hall.
Pallbearers are Michael Thomas, Sheldon Bee, Neilson Bee, Devon Mann, Thurmond Bee and Darrell Bee.
Lucy's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Kirtland, 458 Road 6100, 505-598-9636.
