Louise Anna (Husty) Kuchera

September 3, 1913 — June 1, 2017

Aloisie (Louise) Anna Husté½ Kuchera, 103, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, in Farmington. She was born Sept. 3, 1913, in Klecuvka, Czechoslovakia to Aloisie Vranova and Jan Husté½, in Klecuvka.

Louise married Oldrich Kucera, Jan. 26, 1937. She had four children; Irene, Aldrich, Jerry and Stanley Kuchera. In 1948, after the strife of World War II and the beginning of occupation by the Soviet Union, her family made the decision to leave Czechoslovakia. After staying two years in Germany, the Kuchera family immigrated to Canada. Soon after, the family moved to the United States. They lived on a ranch with Oldrich's uncle in Bighorn, Wyo. While there, Louise became a housekeeper for Senator Malcolm Wallop. This gave her the chance to meet many influential people such as Pope Pius and Queen Elizabeth. Her introduction to Queen Elizabeth helped fuel her fascination with the royal family. After retiring she relocated to Farmington to be closer to her family. She has done many things over the years such as; corresponding with U.S. presidents, collecting blue and white porcelain, writing a cookbook and painting. She travelled to the Czech Republic frequently to visit family there.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Oldrich Kuchera; sons, Jerry and Stanley Kuchera; her parents, Jan (Jon) and Aloisie (Louise) Husté½; brothers, Josef and Jaroslav; sisters, Ludmila, Maria, Jirina, Drahomira and Alois. She is survived by her son, Al Kuchera and daughter, Irene Sprinz; grandchildren, George Kuchera, Miles Kuchera, Tesia McCarty, Mandy Allen, Virginia Corbett, Jeremy Kuchera, Jennifer Kuchera, Sean Kuchera, Matthew Kuchera, Robert Sprinz and Steve Sprinz; and numerous great grandchildren.

There will be no service locally and interment will take place in A½elechovice, Czech Republic.

Louise's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at serenityandcompany.com.
