Lorraine Ethel Schall
Sept. 11, 1918 - June 4, 2015
Lorraine Ethel Schall, 96, our mother, our friend passed from this earthly life on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at home in Farmington. Lorraine (Montgomery) Schall was born on Sept. 11, 1918, in Enid, Mont.
Lorraine was given an opportunity to live a very colorful life and had rubbed elbows with some very interesting people. She came to realize, after all the things she had done and seen, that the best of life was yet to come. She found a great fellowship that saved her life from ruin and in turn she had the chance to help and change the lives of many people
in the 50 years in her fellowship (friends of Bill W.).
Lorraine was a lover of animals and rescued many a stray over her long life and was a strong supporter of many animal causes.
Lorraine will be welcomed into God's Kingdom with open arms but she will be greatly missed by those she left behind. She left behind a daughter Mary "McGee" Ortiz and husband Bob of Farmington; son Tom Schall and wife Jeanne of Albuquerque; grandson Jeff Ortiz and partner Linda Brown of Farmington, granddaughter Janie Emerson and husband Tom of Lexington, Mo.; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents WJH Montgomery and wife Lillian; her husband Thomas D. Schall Jr.; grandson Bobby Ortiz; great-granddaughter Dawn Ortiz. We want to thank Dr. Glover, Basin Hospice, especially Father Chacon of St Mary's Catholic Church; and Don and Betty Sanchez and Jean and Bob Hess, as well as Rosalie Maez at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington.
There will be a private funeral in Albuquerque.
There will be a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at Arid Acres, 2650 La Plata Highway in Farmington.
