Lorraine Barela

Lorraine (Archuleta) Barela, 85 of Grants, New Mexico passed away at her home on August 9th, 2020 from multiple health complications.

Lorraine was born to Estevan and Frances Archuleta on August 17th 1934 in Mora New Mexico.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Francis and Estevan Archuleta, By her husband Jessie Barela (recently) and by her son in law Anthony Pena.

She is survived by her daughters Jessica Pena of Grants, N.M. Linda Lopez and her husband Mike of St. Paul MN and their children Miquela, Ariel, Noemi and Aliana Lopez her son O.J. Tomlinson and wife Crystal and their children Alexis and Alex Tomlinson. sister Maryann Martinez and husband Andres of Mora NM, brother Steve Archuleta and wife Stella of Albuquerque NM.

Lorraine graduated from El Rito High School and then Cosmetology School, She worked for the state of NM in Santa Fe. She met Jessie Barela soon after they were married on August 17th 1957. Lorraine was a member of the Elks Lodge. She worked in many different jobs. she owned a shoe store and partnered with her husband in their super markets, Franks Market and Buy Rite, J and L Meats. and then sales at Grants Ford until her retirement. She was a proud member of both Milan and Grants Catholic Churches.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Martinez, Greg Martinez Tomas Ontiveros, Jerry Martinez, Shaun Martinez, James Valenzuela and Paul Marez

Honorary Pallbearers will be Linda Griego, Roberta David, Ivy Rae Ontiveros, Debbie Martinez, Sue Puckett and Gladys Corley.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday August 18th 2020 at 12:00 noon at Grants Memorial Park
