Lloyd D. Palmer, 82, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2014 in Farmington, NM. Lloyd was born on June 23, 1932 in Colonia Pacheco, Chihuahua, Mexico to Delbert J. and Evelyn Johnson Palmer.
Lloyd graduated from Farmington High in 1950. He married Agnes Head on April 6, 1951. Lloyd served in the Korean War receiving an honorable discharge in 1953. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company for over 30 years. Some of Lloyd's hobbies included gardening and yard work, hiking, archaeology, reading and in his later years, traveling with Agnes in their RV and visiting family.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, son Dee Jay, brother Glen, sisters Afton Grafe and Marie Camphuysen and grandson Zack Palmer.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Agnes, sons, Michael (Myla) and Rick (Ginger), daughter Linda (Mark) Williams, daughter-in-law Lee Palmer, and sister Margie Bunnell. Lloyd also leaves behind 16 grandchildren: Tiffany Williams, Ben Williams, Erin Heywood, Holly Keele, Nick Williams, Cameron Palmer, Julie Palmer, Sydney Palmer, Rikki Cook, Samantha Grapes, Mitch Dye, Gina Smith, Ashley Dye, Dan Palmer, Chris Palmer, Kate Palmer and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, December 20, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Knudsen Bldg) at 1310 E. 25th Street, Bishop Steve Nygren will officiate. Interment will be at Memory Gardens 6917 E. Main. Donations in Lloyd's name may be made to the Farmington Library Foundation.
