Lex Eldred Terry, 80, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014, at his home surrounded by his children. He was born in Halfway, Mo., on March 26, 1934, to Alvin and Effie Terry. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1952, in Glendale, Ariz. He also attended Grand Canyon College. Lex retired from Arizona Public Service in 1994. He also retired in March 1994 as Sergeant 1st Class of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was well known in the community as a great friend to all that knew him. Lex was a gifted wood worker. He loved working with his hands, fishing and camping, and helping his neighbors. He is preceded in death by his wife Janice; both parents; brother John; and sisters, Maxine and Zelma Pearl. Lex is survived by his very special friend, Shirley Grimes; his children, Carla Curry (James Curry) of Magnolia, Ky., Marla Aguayo of Phoenix, Ariz., Steven Terry (Gary Nechtval) of Phoenix, Oscar Terry (Mendie Terry) of Farmington, Alec Williams of Bloomfield; and sisters, Elda Patrick and Wanda Wilson both from Phoenix. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 3/4 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lex will be missed by all that knew him. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington. Lex's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E.
