Leota Elizabeth (Graves) Hurt, 88 of Farmington, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 26, 1931 in Columbia, Missouri to Leo Edwin Mize and Pauline Elizabeth Shocklee.
Leota (Le) enjoyed bowling and bowled on 2 different leagues up until COVID-19. She even bowled several 200 games while in her 80’s. She loved taking her grandchildren to the movies and having them spend the night. She was a wonderful cook and everyone looked forward to spending time at her home for the holidays. She will be dearly missed by many and we are looking forward to seeing her again someday in Heaven.
Leota is preceded in death by her husbands, William R. Hurt and Thomas A. Graves and 1 great-granddaughter.
Leota is survived by sons, Stephen (Patti) Hurt of Jacksonwillve, FL, Timothy (Pam) Hurt of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Debbie(Terry) Burson of Farmington, NM, Linda Hespe of Farmington, NM, favorite ex son in law Martin Hespe of Farmington, NM; brothers, Robert Mize of San Antonio, TX, Leo Mize of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Mary Elva (Gordon) Sanford of San Antonio, TX, Mona Powell of Aztec, NM, Judy Gleaton of Rural Hall, NC; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
