Leonard Rogers McQuitty, 88, of Aztec, passed away on May 14, 2016, he was born in Hugoton, Kansas on December 1, 1927 to Abe D. and Goldie Mae McQuitty. Leonard enlisted in the Army in 1946.
Leonard is survived by his wife Mary McQuitty, his sons Jack McQuitty of Farmington, Lenn McQuitty (Butch) of Aztec, Dwight McQuitty of Andrews TX, his stepson Steven Wells; his stepdaughters Kathy Scholes, and Karen Rapp; and his sister Barbara Huggens of California. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church 700 Navajo Ave., in Aztec. Dan Sanders will be officiating the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideons for placed bibles. Leonard's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec 405 S. Main Ave. 505-334-9332. Those who wish to leave condolences may do so at www.serenityandcompany.com.
