Leonard L. Lindquist, 91, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in Farmington. He was born on June 14, 1921 near Bloomer, Wisconsin to Charles and Ella Ewald Lindquist. He graduated from North High School and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He married Evelyn Barbara Hester December 24, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Maritime Service, U.S. Merchant Marine and U.S. Navy during World War II. Leonard worked for the U.S. Postal Service for almost 30 years and retired as a Tour Superintendent . His hobbies included pheasant hunting, fishing and playing cribbage. Leonard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Farmington. He belonged to the BPOE Elks Lodge 1747 of Farmington. He was also a member of the Masonic Pioneer Lodge #22 AF and AM and the American Legion Post 374 of Des Moines, Iowa. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Barbara Lindquist, of Farmington; his daughter JoAnn Papich (Bill) of Farmington; great-nephew, Roger Ball (Laura) of Farmington and great-nephews Rodney Wilkins and Ryan McDonald, as well as Princess, his beautiful little cat. Burial will be in the Waukee, Iowa Cemetery. Leonard's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice Funeral, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, 505-325-9611.
