March 25, 1966 — June 21, 2013

Leon Blackie of Rock Springs, passed away Friday June 21, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a sudden Illness. He was born March 25, 1966 in San Juan, NM to Joe and Betty Blackie.
He attending attended Schools in Green River, and went on to work as a pipe fitter/ fabrication welder for Halliburton. Leon enjoyed many things including
welding, fishing, horses, being a pitman for a racing team, and spending time with Family. Leon is survived by his brothers; Samuel Blackie and wife Lorraine, Leonard Blackie, all of Rock Springs, Leroy Blackie of New Mexico, Sister Jolene Blackie of Rock Springs, nephews Lucas and Joey Blackie; nieces Valerie Leisch and Husband Mike, Vanessa Ahenakew and husband Dennis, Latonya, Jalisa, Rayelle Blackie, And Felicia Baird all of Rock Springs. Leon was preceded in death by his Parents Joe and Betty Blackie, paternal grandparents John and Helen Blackie, Maternal grandparents Aurthur and Lucy Lopez, brother, Leander Blackie, sister Joann Rodriquez. Leon is survived by his brothers; Samuel (Lorraine) Blackie, Leonard Blackie, Leroy Blackie, Sister Jolene Blackie all of Rock Springs, Wy. numerous Nieces and Nephews in Rock Springs and New Mexico.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 Am Friday June 28, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lybrook, NM
