L.B. Dean, longtime Bloomfield/Aztec resident, passed away Aug. 8, 2013, at the age of 83. He was born in Clayton, Sept. 25, 1929, to Ollie Fields and Eva Gertrude Dean, the fourth of nine children. He married Betty Jean McDonald on Sept. 5, 1948, and was later drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Southern Union (which later became PNM) for 38 years. L.B. is survived by sons, Gary Dean of Bloomfield and Larry Dean of Albuquerque; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Eva Mae Stuckman of Albuquerque, Mary Lou Small-Ross of Mesa, Ariz.; and Alvin Dean of Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by Betty Jean, his wife of 46 years; his mother and father; brothers, Jessie, James and Billy; sisters, Jewel Faye (Polly) Terrell and Laura Belle Perry. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
