L.C. Kesterson

L.C. Kesterson, a resident of Spencerville, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in Spencerville. He was born Jan. 3, 1946, in Puxico, Mo., to Corbet Kesterson and Cora Belle Midget.
L.C. attended school in Calaveras County and graduated from Calaveras High School. He was a man of many things. He loved racing sprint cars and working on cars. He loved people and family.
L.C. started racing in 1965 in California, and then he found his sprint car in Aztec. His racing took him throughout the country. He was a Vietnam War veteran stationed in Germany and served as commander of the American Legion Post 9 in Aztec.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Corbet Kesterson and Cora Belle Kesterson; brothers, Glen Kesterson and Doy Kesterson; and his son, Corbet Hylan Kesterson. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Jane Kesterson; sons, Larry C. (Rhonda) Kesterson and Asa J. (Jamie) Kesterson; daughter, Kathy Kesterson; brother, Daniel Kesterson; sisters, Mary Baker, Eva Keyser, Belva Bristol and Pattie Brooks; grandchildren Lance Kesterson, Vanessa Kesterson, Danielle Kesterson, Hannah Kesterson, Ivan Kesterson, Rachael Kesterson, Jaycee Kesterson, Rachel Carr and Jennifer Carr; and great-grandchildren, Shane, Ryan and Jeremy.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Flora Vista Cemetery, officiated by Dennis Vauhan.
A reception will be all day Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Aztec Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Pallbearers are Larry Kesterson, Asa Kesterson, Bruce Beeson, Rick Martinez, Mark Benvegno, Putt Puttmen, Jay Salisbury, Crash McQueen, Ronnie Martinez, T.J. Williams, Marvin Smith, Gene Kuscherniet and numerous others.
