LaVaughn Thompson, 35, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born June 1, 1978, in Rehobeth, to Bernice Thompson, of Farmington and Harry Thompson, of Flagstaff, Ariz.
He enjoyed fishing with his dad and was a Patriot's fan. He enjoyed spending with his children.
LaVaughn is well loved and will be missed by many.
LaVaughn was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William John Chatto and Mary Lou Frank and paternal grandfather, Ellwood Thompson.
He is survived by his children, Isaac Andrew and Amalia Thompson; the mother of his children, Joanne Shorty, all of Rio Rancho; his parents; brother, Randy Thompson of Farmington; sister, Kristen Kay Thompson, of Hawaii; and his paternal grandmother, Julia McClellan Thompson. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at the Maranatha Fellowship Church, 618 Arrington St. in Farmington, with Pastor Burson Corley officiating.
Pallbearers are Darrell Frank, Lathan Walters, Melvin Nez Jr., Jack Ellis and Donny Edwards.
