Larry Cynova

d. May 2, 2016

Larry Cynova, 68, of Flora Vista, passed away from this life to take his place in heaven on Monday, May 2, 2016, after a battle with Melanoma. He was born on Nov. 7, 1947, in Farmington, to Emil and Theda Cynova.
Larry graduated from Farmington High School in 1966, and went on to New Mexico State University to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in December 1973. He was a member of the Army National Guard while he attended college. He loved being an engineer and worked until December of last year, retiring only due to his health.
Larry married his wife of 31 years, LeeAnn, on March 14, 1975 and was a dedicated and devoted husband even beyond her death on March 11, 2006. He was passionate about his property/home, woodwork, reading, and tractors. He loved woodworking so much he even built his own saw mill and drying sheds to cut and dry his own lumber for projects. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd generation Knight following in his father and grandfather's footsteps, and of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Larry was a mountain climber, avid rock hound, loved camping, traveling, and drives in the high country. He was a workaholic, rarely ever sat still, enjoyed being busy or working on projects all the time. We always joked he was the "Energizer Bunny" and that you would get tired just watching him work, let alone keep up.
Larry was a helpful compassionate man, taking time out of his day to help a neighbor, friend, family, or the church. He loved attending all functions Julie, his daughter, ever participated in growing up from girl scouts, softball, 4-H, and FFA. He coached her FFA pasture and range team throughout her high school years and even a few more after she graduated high school.
Larry was proceeded in death by his wife, LeeAnn Cynova; and his father, Emil Cynova; his father-in-law, Eldon Ervin; his grandparents on both sides; and many other family members and friends.
