Laronda Arlene Golbe, 17, of Upper Fruitland, passed away on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in Farmington. She was born Oct. 5, 1997, in Shiprock, to Larry and Tina Golbe.
Laronda was a student at Kirtland Central High School. She was a special needs child diagnosed with Xeroderma Pigmentosa. XP is inherited disease that caused her to have a strong sensitivity to sunlight which developed in skin cancer. She loved to laugh and greet people, coloring and playing with her blocks. She was loved by many people.
Laronda was preceded in death by her brothers, Lance A. Golbe and Lane A. Golbe and her grandparents, Richard Arlen Golbe and Ruben S. Decker; and her uncle Tinason Decker. She is survived by her parents, Tina and Larry Golbe; sister, Ladonya A. Golbe; grandparents, Mary Alice Decker and Rosie Decker.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 458 Road 6100 in Kirtland.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 Road 6100, in Kirtland. Burial will follow in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery, Road 6575 in Kirtland.
A reception will follow the burial at the church.
Pallbearers are William Golbe, Richard Anthony Golbe, Vinson Frank and Arvin Hunt.
