Landis Tommy Jacquez, 22, our beloved, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest with his family by his side on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Farmington. He was born Sept. 15, 1992, in Shiprock, to Larry Jacquez and Daisy Begay. He was born to Bit'ahnii (Folded Arm Clan) and he was born for Ashiini (Salt Clan).
Landis was preceded in death by his brothers, Lionel and Leon and his paternal grandparents, Tommy Jacquez and Clara Jacquez. He is survived by his parents, Larry Jacquez and Daisy Begay; older brother, Jason Begaye; sisters, Marsha Dixon, LeAnn Jacquez, Charmaine Jacquez, Stacey Jacquez and Lia Jacquez; 2-year-old son, Brandon; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Landis' siblings called him "Happy Feet" because he always had a cheerful smile upon him and always optimistic. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing, camping, movies, playing video games and music, which was a big part of his life. His favorite NFL team was the Steelers. Landis attended Farmington Municipal Schools.
His family meant everything to him. His cousins will always remember his "What's up?" greeting. Landis will be greatly and dearly missed by all the lives he touched.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Desert View Church in Upper Fruitland. Burial will follow in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery, Road 6575 in Kirtland. A reception will follow at the church.
Pallbearers are Jason Begaye, Lani Jacquez, Jeremy Jacquez, Bronson Tache, Toby Tache, Alec Billy, Mark Benally and Rick Tache.
Honorary pallbearers are Larry Jacquez and Lawrence Jacquez.
