LaDona Jeanette (Gray) Smith

LaDona Jeanette Gray Smith, 80, long time Salt Lake City resident LaDona Jeanette Gray Smith, 80, passed away on 14 September 2013 in Henderson, Nevada. LaDona was born in Salt Lake City on 19 January 1933 to Henry Albert Gray and Lottie Jeanette Jenkins Gray. Her family lived in Poplar Grove area where LaDona graduated from West High School.
LaDona married Roger Lee Smith in the Salt Lake Temple on February 8th, 1952. They were married for 32 years before Rogers passing from cancer in 1984. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaDona volunteered at the Salt lake City Library, the LDS call center, an elementary school, and was an active temple worker. She also served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake. She is survived by her 4 children Vickie McMahan, Mark Roger Smith and his wife Cathy, Jeanette Ann Allred, Jolene Mitchell and her husband Rex. Along with 23 Grandchildren and 26 great grand children. Ladona was preceded in death by her husband Roger Lee Smith, parents Henry A. Gray and Lottie
Jenkins Gray, brother Richard Gray, and grandchildren Kiera and Cameron Smith. A viewing will be held at Larkin Funeral Home Salt Lake City, Utah from 7 to 9 pm on Friday September 20th. An additional family viewing will be held at 9 am on Saturday, September 21st at the Larkin Cemetery Chapel in Sandy, Utah followed by a the funeral at Larkin Cemetery Chapel at 10 am.
