Kressyda Rachelle Stepp Ming
August 24, 1982 - February 25, 2017
Kressyda Rachelle Ming of Farmington, NM, passed away in Durango, Colorado on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. She was surrounded by friends who deeply loved her and cared for her. Kressyda was born on August 24th, 1982 in Payson, Utah but always claimed Virginia and Oklahoma as home. From an early age, she traveled the world. She followed her father Keith Stepp, her mother, Elizabeth Stepp, and her two brothers Xan and Tony around the globe. Kressyda lived for adventure and never felt settled in one spot. She lived in at least 13 different cities and countries, not counting those she visited. Kressyda graduated from Brigham Young University where she met Cameron Ming. They were married in 2003 and she then proceeded to drag him on her crazy adventures. Kressyda was nervous about becoming a mother but took to it with the same fire that she did everything. She wanted to make sure her babies saw and loved the world and other cultures, so at four months pregnant she packed up three children and moved to Israel for four months. That's just how she was. She loved being in the mountains, running, aspen trees, great books, and food. All kinds of food.
Kressyda is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior and lived the most Christ-like life a person could. She served people with all of her heart and loved everyone she met. She felt a special connection with the young children and the Young Women. She was uncertain of her abilities when she was asked to be the Relief Society President for the adult women. But nothing could stop Kressyda. She poured her heart and soul into serving others.
She is survived by her husband Sterling Cameron Ming of Farmington, NM; her five beautiful children, Eliot, Olive, Bodhi, Petra, and Poppy; her parents, Keith Lynn Stepp and Elizabeth Dawn Stepp of Katy, TX; her two brothers Alexander Stepp of Ithaca, NY and Anthony Stepp, of Colorado Springs, CO; her wonderful grandmother Jane Cooley, of Kayesville, UT; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
